How Magnetic Therapy Works

So, how do magnets work?
There are two main applications for magnetic therapy:

In terms of reducing pain, some doctors believe that pain reduction with magnets works similarly to using a heating pad. I have arthritis in the base of my thumbs (left and right) and I was fed up of taking ibuprofen and paracetamol all the time, so I decided (sceptically) to try this bracelet. I have to say, after a couple of hours the pain was reduced, and after a few days I had full movement in my thumbs without the associated pain.
All I can say is it works for me. The reduction in pain is wonderful, and being a maintenance engineer, it has really helped me at work.
